NPQH Success for Compass

Local Headteacher Completes Prestigious NPQH Qualification

James Johnson, Head of School at St Paul’s Church of England Primary School, has successfully completed the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) through the Church of England’s accredited programme.

The NPQH is a leadership qualification designed for school leaders preparing to take on headteacher responsibilities. Chartered in 1997 and mandatory for newly appointed heads in England since April 2004, the NPQH combines blended learning with tailored support and research-based practice st-pauls-swanley.kent.sch.uk+4en.wikipedia.org+4forwardasone.uk+4.

Mr Johnson joined the Compass Federation’s St Paul’s in Swanley Village as Head of School, working alongside Executive Headteacher Ben Hulme. The school has approximately 110 pupils and is known for its strong leadership, pastoral ethos and focus on continuity from early years through Key Stage 2 thesun.co.uk+4compassfederation.com+4st-pauls-swanley.kent.sch.uk+4.

In completing the NPQH, Mr Johnson now holds a credential recognised across England’s Church of England schools. He joins a growing number of leaders formally trained to embed inclusive Christian values and clear school vision, in line with the Church’s educational mission researchgate.net+11repository.canterbury.ac.uk+11st-pauls-swanley.kent.sch.uk+11.

Commenting on the achievement, a spokesperson from the school’s governing body said, “We congratulate Mr Johnson on achieving this important milestone. His commitment to professional development strengthens our leadership and supports our mission to serve the community rooted in Christian values.”

Mr Johnson added that completing the NPQH has equipped him with new strategic tools and reflection frameworks, enabling him to further support staff, pupils, and link effectively with the Diocese.

With the NPQH now under his belt, James Johnson is poised to continue leading St Paul’s CE Primary School toward its goal of excellence, grounded in both strong leadership practice and the school’s Christian character.
