SP - Oak Class Visit Rochester Synagogue

Oak Class, St. Paul's recently visited Rochester Synagogue
Oak Class recently visited Rochester Synagogue as part of their Religious Education learning about Judaism. The visit provided pupils with a valuable opportunity to experience a place of worship first-hand and deepen their understanding of Jewish beliefs, traditions and community life.
During the visit, pupils were welcomed warmly and introduced to many important features of the synagogue. They learned about the significance of the Ark, the Torah scrolls and the bimah, and how these are used during worship and religious ceremonies. The children listened carefully and asked insightful questions about Jewish traditions.
The class also explored how Jewish families celebrate key festivals and how faith shapes daily life. Hearing directly from members of the synagogue community helped bring their classroom learning to life and gave pupils a deeper appreciation of different cultures and beliefs.
It was an enriching experience for Oak Class and supported their developing understanding of respect, diversity and faith in modern Britain. The children represented the school beautifully and showed great curiosity and enthusiasm throughout the visit.
